Manage accounting functions, including cash receipts, payroll and accounts payable. Administer approved accounting policies and procedures throughout the YMCA. Ensure preparation of complete and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university. Five years of accounting managerial experience including experience directly supervising accounting related staff. Excellent interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner. Demonstrated experience in managing and monitoring department budget. Able to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex legal and financial information. Responsive team player with ability to quickly prioritize among numerous pressing tasks. Exceptional computer skills in the operation and functioning of database systems, accounting/business software and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Experience with annual audit procedures. Essential Functions Develop, implement, and maintain department programs. Oversee the activities of the Finance Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, annual audits and annual budgets. Lead the activities of the Finance Department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, expense reports and cash control. Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations. Review and approve monthly journal entries. Oversee Accounts Receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billings and cash receipts to ensure systems reflect accurate financial data. Recruit, coach, develop and evaluate staff. Lead the annual budget process. Assist CFO with fiscal analysis. Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies and partnership agreements including bank ratio reporting. Oversee all month end and year end closing processes and preparation of corresponding month end and year-end financial reports. Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls. Responsible for working with CPA firm on annual financial statement audit including A-133 audit. Assist with preparation of IRS form 990 tax return. Prepare reports and attend Finance Committee meetings when needed. Responsible for management of internal compliance function to ensure compliance with all Grant requirements and internal controls put in place are effective. Facilitate financial and budget training for branch staff to ensure understanding of financial statements, concepts, financial systems and other tools necessary to manage day to day operations. Responsible for working in conjunction with IT to ensure that all systems are tracking, recording, and reporting accurate financial and statistical data. Respond to Chief Financial Officer as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his/her financial needs Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports. Participate and attend special events and fundraising activities in support of the organization.
