Other Requirements: Qualifications Minimum Criteria for Candidates: Accredited 4-year college degree. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personalvalues consistent with the YMCA mission. Minimum five years' prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees. Ability to fundraise and manage yearly annual campaigns. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships Must live in or be willing to relocate to McMinn County. Preferred Criteria for Candidates: YMCA Organizational Leader Certification. Fiscally sound business management approach. Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants. A proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management. Essential Functions The incoming CEO/Executive Director will be a leader that encourages, delegates, motivates and values opposing views and is eager to impact the organization by challenging the status quo. Experience in change management and an ability to adapt to the needs of this YMCA and community is needed. Candidates must have an ability to see the potential and needs of the community and work and communicate with key leaders and board members in the community. The Y Board will expect the new CEO/Executive Director to develop the next generation of board leaders, programs to engage and retain youth and develop a succession plan to ensure continuing service to the community through strong leadership. The new CEO/Executive Director will serve as an ambassador for the mission, cause and vision for the Y and be seen and respected as a community leader. The Board of Directors expects our new CEO/Executive Director to develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, while always upholding the highest standards of the values of the Y. The next leader must exhibit strong communication skills, both written and spoken, able to lead with the Ys values of caring, respect, honesty, responsibility and faith. He or She must have the passion to impact all individuals, support families, protect and develop children and foster a sense of belonging and community connectivity for all. Within the first 18 months the CEO/Executive Director must continue the momentum set by the CEO/Executive Director with staff structure and empowerment through delegation and verification. The CEO/Executive Director must also actively interact with Y members, donors, staff and volunteers and be seen as an active and integral member of the community. The new CEO/Executive Director must actively seek ways to serve the community through various programs inside & outside of the YMCA facilities while staying affordable and sustainable. Required Certifications Preferred: Organizational Leadership certification within two years.
