LocationWarsaw, IN Job Description The Kosciusko Community YMCA of Warsaw, Indiana Board of Directors is looking for a compelling and strategic leader who can build strong relationships in the communities we serve. Warsaw is the county seat of Kosciusko County, Indiana and cradled among Winona Lake, Pike Lake, and Center Lake, among many others. This position requires strong skills and competencies including, but not limited to: program operations, fundraising, staff development, strategic planning, membership & program analysis, and facility management. The CEO will be visible in the community and active in the development of meaningful community partnerships, continuing to position The Kosciusko Community YMCA as a strong charitable partner. Qualifications Minimum Criteria for Candidates: Accredited 4-year college degree. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission. Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships. Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and the effectiveness in broadening our engagement in the communities in which we serve. Preferred Criteria for Candidates: YMCA Organizational Leader Certification. Fiscally sound business management approach. Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants. A proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management in excess of $4M or more annually. Essential Functions PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES AND COMPETENCIES OF THE NEXT LEADER: The board believes its next CEO should be an experienced leader who has the background and qualities that will permit him or her to achieve excellence in the following roles: Advocate the vision of the YMCA and be the heart and soul of the operation: Should actively interact and communicate with YMCA members, donors, and staff and volunteers and be seen as an active and integral member of the community. Act as an ambassador for the mission, cause and vision for the YMCA within the community and be seen and respected as a leader, with the ability to develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, while always upholding the highest standards of the values of the YMCA's heritage. Build and Manage the Team: Ensures that a talent management system is in place and executed effectively. The system will ensure that the YMCA has an outstanding, dedicated, and culturally competent staff. Establish an individual development plan for each direct report. Hire, motivate, nurture, retain, and hold staff accountable for key objectives. Encourage the team by creating a spirit of camaraderie and sense of mission/purpose. Creates a learning organization. Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan: Have the ability to work effectively with the board of directors, volunteers and key staff to create and develop a strategic roadmap that addresses the needs of this YMCA with defined organizational strategies. Lead staff in the development and implementation of goals through an annual operating plan. Lead volunteers in aligning committees and their charts of work to support the strategies and goals of the association. Lead a Culture of Philanthropy: Develop and implement an annual support fundraising plan that will establish the YMCA as a leading charitable organization within the community through the engagement of board members, members, volunteers, staff, and donors. Recognizing the tradition of successful capital fundraising at the Y, take the organization to a new level of effectiveness and impact in annual giving in order to continue the organization on a high-growth trajectory.
