Responsibilities: The Divisional Vice President (DVP) of Individual Life Sales is responsible for managing an overall division of regional territories and ultimately driving sales growth by developing and leading a team of point of sale life consultants and wholesalers. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Head of the Insured Solutions Group. Oversees the development of the wholesaler's regional business plans ensuring each aligns with the overall Life sales plan as developed by the SVP of Individual Life Sales. Manage a team of life insurance wholesalers who provide multi-carrier sales support to Edward Jones. Continuously analyzes territories to assess market changes or trends or relationship needs. Work with Strategic Account Manager to develop and implement sales strategies and plans to achieve sales objectives with strategic accounts. Builds high performance teams: Maintains a monthly to quarterly “Game Plan” of activities with each wholesaler. This includes consistent (weekly to bi-weekly) meetings to assess wholesaler needs and/or regional needs, coordinating travel with the wholesalers in order to develop skills sets, troubleshoot problem areas and strengthen distribution relationships. Removes obstacles for wholesalers and serves as an advocate for them. Coaches and guides the wholesalers; provides continuous feedback on performance; holds wholesalers accountable for sales production and other specified performance expectations. Identifies strengths and opportunities for growth/development and recommends courses of action. Works with wholesalers on day to day activities involving case management, problem resolution and creative sales ideas. Establishes successful relationships with internal clients including but not limited to Marketing, Compliance, Underwriting and Operations. Partners with VP of Sales Productivity and Director of Product Training to develop and implement sales management tools & best practices. Maintains understanding of key account profiles which includes their size and scope, product mix, trends and challenges. Position Requirements: Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (also known as undergraduate degree) Series 6 and 63 – State life and health license Expert knowledge of Life Insurance, (Term, UL, VUL, Estate planning, Business planning) and familiarity with Advanced Sales concepts. Must possess broad based knowledge of how broker dealers and financial institutions distribute products. Prior experience managing field sales representatives or external wholesalers preferred.
