The YMCA of High Point Board is seeking a dynamic leader who is able to lead an engaged, passionate leadership team by ensuring that staff development and performance leads to superior outcomes in programs, member satisfaction, and community engagement. Other Requirements: Qualifications Minimum Criteria for Candidates: Accredited 4-year college degree. Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal values consistent with the YMCA mission. Minimum five years prior experience in a senior management role with a YMCA or related experience at a comparable organization with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees. Must have the ability to develop and strengthen community relationships. Have the ability to develop new programs, review and enhance programs being offered or considered for both economy and effectiveness in order to broaden our engagement in the communities served. Preferred Criteria for Candidates: YMCA Organizational Leader Certification. Fiscally sound business management approach. Strategic planning and Fundraising experience including annual campaigns and the securing of grants. A proven track record of budgetary and fiscal management in excess of $3M or more annually. Essential Functions This leader must be a humble yet passionate ambassador for the Y's mission, goals, and values within the community. This person should be skilled in seeking out civic and community groups to be involved, and a person that will uphold the highest standards exemplified in the YMCA Judeo-Christian values. The CEO should identify key issues and challenges with particular attention to the needs of the community which can be addressed within the mission, goals, and values of the YMCA. The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to create successful and strategic relationships with influential leaders and members of the diverse communities the Y serves, including an ability to leverage those relationships to enhance support for the Y's mission. The Y's success and future growth are reliant on these productive partnerships with not-for-profit organizations, the public sector, and private business. Candidates will be evaluated on their prior experience and success in these areas. Candidates must be able to implement and support fundraising programs (such as the Y's annual appeal and Heritage Club membership) and practices that assure that public and private resources are available to support the Y's operational and capital needs. The successful candidate must be able to build upon and expand the Y's rich, longstanding traditions and service to the community that have given the Y its deserved position of influence throughout the Greater High Point service area. Residence within the Greater High Point service area, and local community involvement is expected of the successful applicant. Within the first year, the CEO must be able to create a unified culture within the staff, the Association Board, and the four branch Boards to ensure that staff and volunteers are highly engaged and coordinated in order to increase the impact and positive influence of the Y on the Greater High Point community. The candidate will have developed methods to ensure that input and feedback from members, volunteers and Y support groups are considered, and that their contribution to the achievement of the Y's mission is valued. Developed and implemented programs to increase membership and participation at each branch location. Possess a proven record of ability to design, develop and implement procedures to ensure that staff is properly trained and incentivized to accomplish the Y's mission of providing exceptional member services, sustainable membership growth and staff/member retention. This is to be accomplished by development of staff, programs and procedures that produce measurable results of success.
