The Senior Vice President, Programs will provide vision, leadership and hands on support for developing and implementing Health & Wellness and Youth & Community Development initiatives and support for the largest YMCA in the United States. This position is responsible for driving the overall strategy and making key decisions to elevate our work in the areas of preventative health, fitness, wellness, youth, education, new immigrant programming and community partnerships across an Association of 24 branches and over 100 off-site locations.

Other Requirements: Qualifications Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration or in Education is preferred. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a successful leader within a large, federated organization; YMCA experience a plus. Experience leading a distributed staff model. Experience leading youth development and/or health and wellness programming. Ability to coach and mentor teams. Essential Functions Provide vision, strategy and leadership for the overall program portfolio. Model best practices of leadership, change management, operations, and relationship building through Department leadership and branch support. Charged with developing the strategy and support to enable branches to create the best possible experience in the areas of: preventive health, fitness, wellness, early childhood, school age, teen, young adult and New Americans programs, as well as community and arts partnerships and engagement. Provides the vision and resources that drive member satisfaction, recruitment and retention. Works with Chief Operations Officer (COO) and senior leadership to refine our Health & Wellness and Youth & Community Development portfolio, with an eye towards market/ industry/ field best practices and community need. Provides supervisory oversight over the VP, Health & Wellness and the VP, Youth & Community Development, as well as their departments and Cabinets. Promotes growth and innovation by creating a clear vision and strategy for short and long term success. Ensures successful execution of portfolio. Define our competitive advantage in the NYC market. Collaborate with the VP, Membership, and VP, Field Operators to develop community and branch profiles to inform overall recruitment and programming strategy. Build partnerships with institutions and build YMCA brand in the field. Position the Y as a leader externally in programmatic areas. Collaborate and build internal relationships. Responsible for oversight of all program systems, content, processes and policy creation. Ensure ongoing audits and site visits. Understand program trends to inform our work. Support the COO and senior leadership in achieving strategic goals for the organization, including but not limited to: Driving revenue/membership at the branches. Improving program quality, fidelity, and participation at the branches. Collecting and analyzing data to inform the strategic direction of both branch and Association work. Connecting with the community to ensure the demand for programs and services matches need and that our solutions will have a sustainable, lasting impact. Partner with VP, Membership to ensure retention of members and participants. Provide insight into popularity/satisfaction, and areas for improvement. Ensure well-versed in underlying rationale/strategies driving overall program strategy. Work with Human Resources at the Association Office on learning and development. Work closely with and support Field Operating VPs and Executive Directors to help their branch meet their goals. Collaborate with YUSA peers and leaders as the representative from NYC on all matters regarding program development and implementation. Routinely review and interpret Health & Wellness and Youth & Community Development data. Review and analyze current member needs and to help inform Health & Wellness and Youth & Community Development priorities.
